Director Shankar’s magnum opus 2.0 is getting bigger with each passing day. With a mega budget of 543 Crores [Aprox 75 Mn], the movie is easily the most expensive Indian film ever made. After several delays the movie is currently in its final stages of post production.Recently Oscar winning sound designer Resul Pookutty who is busy with the sound designing works had shared a photo of him along with Oscar nominated record and mix engineer Geoff Foster. It was not very surprising considering the number of biggies from the west who are already involved in the film. But this latest addition could bring a whole new dimension to the film considering the previous works of Geoff Foster.
Geoff Foster, a British sound engineer came to prominence with Kurt Russell starrer Stargate in 1994. For his work with Bjork, he received Academy and Golden Globe nomination in best original song category. His other accolades includes Grammy wins for “Both sides now”, biopic of Ray Charles “Ray” and Christopher Nolan’s “Dark knight”.He was also a part of sound design and mixing team of Life of Pi which won an academy for best score.
Geoff Foster who is making his debut in Indian films with 2.0 has worked in several critically acclaimed projects including David Fincher’s Gone Girl, Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar and Dunkirk and Amy Adams starrer Nocturnal Animals to name a few.
Apart from Geoff Foster, 2.0 has the contributions of legendary costume designer Mary E Vogt who recently worked in blockbuster “Crazy Rich Asians”, Legacy Studios[Prosthetic and animatronics] , Academy award winning animation company Rhythem and Hues studios,Academy winning stunt coordinator Kenny Bates etc.
2.0 has started the promotion campaign in full swing as the movie is set for a worldwide release on November 29th. Dharma Productions have already joined hands with Lyca to distribute the film across India. This development had ensured that the movie will be having one of the widest cinematic release ever as far as Indian films are concerned.
