What’s the movie about?
Taxiwaala story is of an unemployed graduate Shiva (Vijay Deverakonda) buys an antique Car and he is recruited as Cab Driver. His life goes on smoothly until one day he finds out that his car has paranormal powers. Will Shiva able to find out the reason behind paranormal activity is the core of the plot.
Once again Vijay Deverakonda proves that he is an innate performer. He has shown subtlety in his acting. Malavika Nair shines in an important role. Pooja Jawalkar has done decent job with the role given to her. The film has several comedy sequences involving trio Vijay Deverakonda, Madhusudhan and Vishnu which is outstanding mainly due to the fact that it is situational. Special mention to Vishnu who has portrayed the character “Hollywood” is funny and entertaining.
Plot is unique which holds the interest. Screenplay in first half is engaging and interval bang is terrific. Director Rahul Sankirtyayan has successfully managed to mix multiple genres. Super Natural entity in this film occurs because of Astral projection. This film showcases brief explanation about it. Visuals are astonishing which is captured well by cinematographer Sujith Sarang. VFX used in the film is elegant. Music and Background Score by Jakes Bejoy is spot on. Climax sequence is unforeseeable which changes the development of events.
In Second half, the screenplay is bit dragged post interval which daunts the proceedings. Editing could have been better in the second half especially post interval scenes.
Overall, Taxiwaala is well made Super Natural Comedy Thriller with astral projection as main stay. With the nice blend of situational comedy and supernatural element, this movie furnishes whole-sum entertainment.
